The 2026 Midwest American Society of Animal Science Annual Meeting was held March 8-11 in Omaha, Nebraska, bringing together researchers and students from 12 U.S. states and two Canadian provinces. “Faculty and students from Ģ����ý were highly successful at the Midwest ASAS Annual Meeting, showcasing the strength of the university’s teaching, research and extension programs,” said John Jaeger, Calvin and Mary Hayenga Endowed Department Head of Animal Science.

Ģ����ýers in Ģ����ý's Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering are developing algorithms that allow artificial intelligence to gather meaning from images and other data sources in support of technological advancement and scientific discovery.

Ģ����ýers in Ģ����ý's Geospatial Sciences Center of Excellence utilized satellite data to better understand how destructive wildfires swept through Los Angeles in January 2025.  

The Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering at Ģ����ý will host the Innovate AI 2026 Symposium, a one-day convening of leaders from academia, industry, government and the startup ecosystem to explore how artificial intelligence is transforming critical sectors of regional and national importance.

Srinivas Janaswamy, associate professor in Ģ����ý’s Department of Dairy and Food Science, has been named to the Stanford/Elsevier Top 2% Scientists List for 2025.

Possessing a willingness to step out of her comfort zone has given international student Tennille Eremas a taste of research and an opportunity to experience a new way of learning. Eremas is one of eight members of the fourth class of Future Innovators of America, which is chosen by the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering at Ģ����ý. Recipients are awarded $5,000 with $4,500 as a stipend and $500 to cover the cost of lab supplies or travel to disseminate the results of their project.   The fellowships were created to provide unique research opportunities for undergraduate students in the college.

Future Scholars of America is a program of the Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering. Created in fiscal year 2025, it is intended to enhance the experience of doctoral students who are aiming for a career in academia. “This program is designed to cultivate the next generation of full scholars, individuals who are equally prepared to advance research frontiers and contribute meaningfully to undergraduate education,” according to Rajesh Kavasseri, associate dean for research in the college.
