Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ is partnering with hospitals in Brookings, Huron and Madison to expand the public health and respiratory therapy workforce. The Community Practice Innovation Center within the College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions at SDSU has received a three-year, $1.545 million federal grant from the Health Resources and Services Administration.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ accounts for 45% of the overall economic impact of public higher education in South Dakota, according to a study recently released by the South Dakota Board of Regents using FY19 data. The six degree-granting regental institutions and the BOR office produce an annual economic impact of $2.1 billion, while sustaining more than 12,000 jobs.

Anand honored for teaching excellence. Anand received the North Central Region for 2021 Excellence in College and University Teaching Awards for Food and Agricultural Sciences by the U.S. Department of Agriculture and the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities. He receives $2,000 to be used for improving teaching at SDSU.

Through the generosity of two Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ alumni, the university has established its first endowed faculty position in the College of Education and Human Sciences. The Tate Profilet and Mary DeJong Family Endowed Director of Early Childhood Education was formalized at an Oct. 22 investiture ceremony, paving the way for a new era of the early childhood education program at State.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s American Indian Science and Engineering Society student organization received The Outreach and Community Service Award at the annual AISES National Conference, held Sept. 23-25 at the Phoenix Convention Center.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ President Barry Dunn bestowed the SDSU Presidential Medallion upon six individuals Tuesday afternoon for their efforts during the COVID-19 pandemic.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s Professional Staff Advisory Council recently honored four of its members at its annual meeting. Rebecca Peterson received the Rising Star Award, which goes to an employee within three years of initial hire, while Tianna Beare, Matt Halvorson and Jeff Holm were selected as Outstanding Professional Award recipients.

The COVID-19 pandemic did not stop the SDSU Foundation from finishing 2020 with a record-setting number of new gifts and pledges. The team reached $73.2 million in gifts this past year, surpassing the previous all-time high of $63 million in 2013.

Ä¢¹½´«Ã½â€™s Jerome J. Lohr College of Engineering will soon offer a bachelor’s degree in concrete industry management. The degree announcement comes after the CIM National Steering Committee and the North Central Region patrons selected SDSU after an approximate six-month selection process.
