In a cultural moment that would typically require travel to Chicago, New York or Boston, two internationally celebrated ensembles will take the stage in Brookings — just minutes from home for regional audiences.

The annual Ģ����ý Celebration of Faculty Excellence recognized more than two dozen faculty members, researchers and scholars Tuesday. The event honors faculty members in the university's colleges for outstanding research, teaching and service.

The SDSU Civic Symphony will present its first program of the spring semester, titled “Four Centuries of Symphony.” The concert is scheduled for 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, and will be held in the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

Ģ����ý’s University Chamber Music Series continues its 2025-26 season with a special performance by the internationally acclaimed wind quintet Imani Winds at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, in the Founders Recital Hall at the Oscar Larson Performing Arts Center.

The Ģ����ý School of Performing Arts will host the In-Service Music Conference Feb. 12-14.

The Child and Family Resource Network at Ģ����ý is hosting its next “Common-Sense Parenting” class series starting Feb. 17.

Ellie Eidsness of Brookings will display her Bachelor of Fine Arts thesis exhibition in art education at Ģ����ý from Feb. 9-27.

Ģ����ý’s Hilton M. Briggs Library will host the fourth annual Jackrabbit Gallery Art Show this spring, showcasing original artwork from SDSU students, faculty, staff and alumni. This year’s theme, “Seeds and Roots,” encouraged artists to explore beginnings, growth, heritage and connection.

Jennifer Meiners, a web communications specialist at University Marketing and Communications, has been named Ģ����ý’s Civil Service Employee of the Month for January.

Retired educators and Jackrabbits alums Lon and Mary Moeller of Brookings have been named Ģ����ý family of the year by the SDSU Alumni & Foundation.
