Building Description
The Northeast Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Farm, established in 1956, is 15 miles north of Watertown near Highway 20 and old Highway 81, or 2 miles west of Interstate 29 exit 193.
This farm was originally one of several mobile units and intentions were to move it to different locations every six to 10 years. However, a long-term lease arrangement with Orrin Korth enabled the station to remain in place and increase in size from the original 20 acres to the current 105 total acres with 80 tillable acres.
Ä¢¹½´«Ã½ Focus: Plant science and agronomic research, variety and adaptability testing, evaluation of crop management techniques under shorter growing seasons, research on impacts of night temperature changes and low precipitation conditions.
